These are just some of the major vitamins and minerals found in large quantities in paw paw: dietary fiber, folate, vitamin A, C and E. It also contains small amount of calcium, iron, riboflavin, thiamine and niacine. It is also very rich in antioxidant nutrients flavonoids and carotenes, very high in vitamin C plus A, and low in calories and sodium.
1. Malaria fever: Squeeze some yellow pawpaw leaves in water. Take a glassful thrice daily for seven days.
2. Jaundice: Same Dosage as Malaria fever.
3. Diabetics: The green leaves of pawpaw are very good for diabetics and for diabetes-induced hypertension. Squeeze the green leaves in water and take a glassful thrice daily. This is also good for tackling constipation
4. Stomach and Intestine Ulcer: Cut a big unripe pawpaw fruit into small pieces. Do not remove the peels, then soak or four days. sieve and take half a glass three times daily for two weeks.
5. External Ulcer: The white milky sap of the unripe pawpaw has a high percentage of papain, which is used for healing chronic wound or ulcer. Just make a slight cut on the unripe pawpaw to allow the juice to drop. Papain is also present in ripe pawpaw.
6. Convulsion: The dry, brown pawpaw leaf is a good remedy for convulsion. Get the dry fallen pawpaw leaves and grind into powder. Add two tablespoonfuls of the powder to a half palm kernel oil, stir very well and rub all over the body. it will arrest the situation during the attack of convulsion.
7. Asthma: Burn dried pawpaw leaves and inhale the smoke during an attack of asthma. It'll bring quick relief. Also to prevent the attach, always inhale the smoke every night.
8. Bronchitis: The root of the pawpaw is a good plant for suppressing respiratory problems, especially bronchitis. Boil some pawpaw roots, take half a glass three times daily.
9. Cough: Chew a tender pawpaw root and swallow the juice.
10. Piles: Same as bronchitis ,drink half a glass twice daily.
